The steps and movements of belly dance are a uniquely fun and gentle way to increase tone, suppleness and stamina. AND it’s a great way to meet fun new friends, find new music, and indulge in a love of sparkly, jangling accessories.
We will break down the alphabet with our bodies, practicing our “hipsmanship” as we build dexterity by focusing on isolated movements working our way toward dancing expressive stories with our “curvesive”!
In this series of classes, we will focus on connecting with all parts of our bodies, building shimmy stamina, improving balance, and relaxing our shoulders and core, all while we develop the ability to multi-task multiple movements simultaneously.
Comfortable, loose-fitting pants or leggings, a hip scarf (ones with coins are best), a layered top (we will get warm and then cool), and lots of water are recommended.
**This class will not be pleasant if you have a full stomach! A light snack and a bit of water before are OK.
