Zills, Zagat, Finger Cymbals are a staple of belly dance. Taking your dance practice and confidence to the next level by mastering the finger cymbals!
This foundational series teaches finger cymbal control, technique for different tones, improvisation, and maintaining rhythm while dancing while exploring basic rhythms commonly found in Belly Dance music – Beladi, Chiftitelli, Ayub, Kashlamar, Running 3’s and improvised variations that fit within these rhythm structures. We will start by absorbing these musical rhythms into our bodies through steps and dance, then transfer them into music through your fingers and finger cymbals.
Bring your own Finger Cymbals. Double-slotted finger cymbals are preferred, but difficult to find at this time. I am happy to share current purchase resources with dancers. Limited loaner sets are available. Classes are held Thursdays, from 7-8pm beginning October 5 at the Demi Dancewear Studio in Bozeman, MT.
